History

The Proto-Cimp Era

Before the Cimp became the iconic purple cat-imp we all know and love today, there was the proto-cimp: a mysterious black cat with glowing pink-purplish eyes. (very adorable, das us) Some called it a “bat cat” because of those mesmerizing eyes that seemed to pierce through the darkness.

During these early days, Camila worked together with the community to find the perfect name for la creatura . The top contenders? Binx, Ink, and Onyx, all fitting names for a shadowy feline companion. The Binx name idea came from an OG community member named Zevdy, and it stuck hard.

The Binx name and concept—a black cat with pink glowing eyes—was originally used for the Impire’s very first server bot before becoming the identity of the very first Cimp (more on that below). From bot to buddy, what a glow-up.

But here’s where it gets interesting… the name “Cimp” itself? That came later. Cat + Imp = Cimp was born from the community’s creativity, perfectly capturing the dual nature of these mischievous little creatures. (we’re just built different BILL DIPPERLY )

1. Physical Features:
   • Furry antrophomorphic cat imp with a touch of iridescence in their eyes, they tend to posses very short limbs, a big head with cat like horns and a tail with a pointy triangular tip at its end.
2. Habitat:
   • Place that tend to have limited daylight.
3. Behavioral Traits:
   • The Cimp’s behavioural traits consist much in the involvenment of playful antics, trolling, spamming and xdxing during raids and other special ocassions to futher mention more.
4. Diet:
   • They tend penchant for the exotic dishes. Although their diet consists mostly of fish, they love an infamous dish called “Sushi with Chocolate”.
5. Special Abilities:
   • Cimps have the ability to heal, but they can’t bring it up by themselves, certain conditions have to be met for a resurrection to be possible.
6. Cultural Significance:
   • The Cimp is revered for qualities such as being cute goofballs that although mischievious, they love to share their luck and wisdom in what they’re profficient at.
7. Evolutionary History:
   • Environmental influences have been the main cause of the change of pigmentation from black to a dark purple and why some do posses the ability to fly.
8. Interactions with Humans or Other Creatures:
   • The type of interactions that cimps have other than within the Impire is their Imp Queen and whenever they’re being babysitted, they tend to be very clingy to certain people consistently asking for UPPIES.
9. Etymology The word “Cimp” is a genius portmanteau combining Cat + Imp together. Interestingly, individual names like Binx, Ink, and Onyx were considered first for the proto-cimp (a black cat with glowing pink-purplish eyes, or “bat cat”), before the community coined the term “Cimp” itself. It’s pronounced “Kimp” not “Simp”.
